Gonarezhou means "place of many elephants", and the park lives up to its name. Its most famous sight is the Chilojo Cliffs, red sandstone walls above the Runde River that glow at sunrise and sunset.
Chilo Gorge, on the Save River at the park's northern edge, is a beautiful base for game drives, river walks and nights under very dark skies. This is a trip for travellers who want real wilderness.
